5 Of The Cheapest Cinemas London

Watching movies is the finest way to overcome bad thoughts if you are experiencing depression, anxiety, and loneliness.

Cinema serves as a conversation starter and brings people together. It improves creativity, presents the entire universe from many angles, and broadens our thinking and perception.

Most importantly, it bridges cultural gaps, introduces us to numerous art forms, and enriches our life with new knowledge and facts.

London has many excellent movie cinemas. On a lucky day, you might run into a massive red carpet full of famous people walking to a premiere while crossing Leicester Square. Such opulence can be a bit costly and push away the true movie buff.

Back in the 90s, people used to be able to see a movie for 20p and still have change left over for a bag of chips on the way home. It has long been the go-to anecdote for grumpy old people, and it is difficult to disagree with their disapproval of today’s movie ticket pricing.

But if you know where to look, there are still many cheap movie theatres in London where you can get tickets at cheap rates as well as snacks without going broke.

Continue reading our article to get to know about the five cheapest movie theatres in London, where you will be able to see blockbuster movies with cheap tickets.

List of 5 of the cheapest cinemas London:

  • Prince Charles Cinema
  • Peckhamplex
  • Genesis Cinema
  • Barbican Cinema
  • Stratford Picturehouse

Prince Charles Cinema

The most affordable movie theatre in all of London is Prince Charles, which is located just off Leicester Square. You may become a member and watch movies for £6 on weekdays by paying £10 annually or £60 for a lifetime membership.

With horror, sci-fi, teen-flick all-nighters, double bills, and brief seasons, its two screens offer a terrific mix of new-ish blockbusters, independent, and arthouse films.

People are watching “Pitch Perfect” on one screen while “A Space Odyssey” is playing on the other. If you’ve ever wanted to see all of the “Harry Potter” movies back-to-back in a single 22-hour sitting, they also do that.

The programming is top-notch, and it’s cozy, inexpensive, and cheery. It was chosen as “best for fun” in Time Out’s movie awards and is a favorite of Quentin Tarantino and Paul Thomas Anderson.

Peckhamplex

The Peckhamplex, a Love London award winner in 2015 and 2016, is once again south London’s favorite movie theatre.

Two local advertising professionals even created a fictitious movie trailer to “Save the Plex” when it was recently in danger of being demolished.

The Plex continues to make London moviegoers happy with its rustic appeal and rock-bottom ticket pricing, so it must have worked.

Every day of the week, the newest blockbusters are available to watch for just £4.99, allowing you to see 2022 films for 1998 rates.

It is simple to understand why the classic is so adored, it has a large heart to go with the enormous screens.

The theatre also does community focused activities like #BlackPantherPeckham, which showed the Marvel movie for free to 200 young people.

Because movie enthusiasts are traveling from all over, advanced reservations are strongly advised. Refreshments are included with your movie ticket on Thursday mornings if you are available.

Every ticket costs £3.50 on Mondays and Wednesdays. Any day of the week, a nice session will only cost you £5.50 if you are a student with a valid ID (you can get yours from the reception).

Senior citizens in Whitechapel are lucky as they can easily reach Genesis cinema. It has recently undergone a stunning renovation, making it a stunning theatre to watch your favorite movie.

You can reserve seats in the Studio 4 and 5 boutique screening rooms, which have armchairs, soft couches, and a bar for those necessary in-between-movie refreshments.

In this cinema, the programming is excellent, and the atmosphere is friendly, affordable, and lively.

Additionally, twice-weekly promotions for new movies are available at the Barbican. The ticket is only £6 on Mondays or £8 for 3D movies.

Students can enter any new release on Tuesdays for just five dollars, or seven dollars for 3D movies, by showing their English Studio Student Card.

Stratford Picturehouse

Stratford Picturehouse frequently screens blockbuster films. This most affordable Picturehouse boutique chain theatre can be found hidden away towards the back of the Stratford Centre, Westfield’s more modest neighbor.

With a selection of elegant blockbusters, Oscar-worthy drama, audience-pleasing foreign films, and the rare classic, tickets are only £7 all day, every day.

Operas and theatrical performances can also be seen live, however, the tickets for these are usually more expensive than those for a typical cinema.

A bar that serves alcohol, coffee, and snacks is also available. Amazingly, the family ticket (two adults and two children) costs only £20. For even more affordable tickets and a free cup of tea or coffee, older guests can join the Silver Screen club.
