Here’s How To Enter London Fashion Week!

Designers, influencers, and A-listers attend London Fashion Week every season, making it one of the most talked-about events in the industry.

But how can you get in if you’ve never had the chance to attend LFW?

The next show will feature public displays of menswear, womenswear, and gender-neutral collections in September 2023.

How To Get Into London Fashion Week?

In order to attend LFW, you often require an invitation. If you’re a blogger, influencer, or anyone working within the industry, you may apply for accreditation by visiting the LFW website, finding the press contact for the appropriate designer, and sending them an email outlining why you should go. It is advised to apply early to prevent disappointment.

It’s doubtful that you will be given a ticket if you don’t work in the fashion industry because many buyers and industry insiders use the event to foresee trends and create collections for the coming season.

The British Fashion Council (BFC) physically hosts London Fashion Week. The major center of activity is located at Somerset House, and diverse performances take place all across the British city.

However, because of the modifications made in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, many Fashion Week shows are now live-streamed online. As well as smaller events like Copenhagen Fashion Week, this has also proven true for Paris, Milan, and New York Fashion Week.

This implies that anyone can watch the programs, even if they are not employed by the industry.

How Do I Attend London Fashion Week Without Invitation?

Now comes the tougher part. The performances are ticket-only and exclusive. Either the designer’s press staff must invite you, or you must apply for a ticket on your own.

You can apply for tickets by visiting the London Fashion Week website, selecting the designer you want to see, and sending the Press Office an email that is well-written and includes a justification for attending.

Anyone with a ticket can go to a show, but procuring a ticket is not always simple.

When Does London Fashion Week Take Place?

LFW typically takes place twice a year in February and September, when both fashion fans and business people converge in London to see the newest trends in clothing.

A smaller version of Fashion Week is also conducted in June, during which emerging designers who have just graduated present their creations to industry professionals.

What Designers Should I Be Watching Out For?

There are many intriguing emerging designers putting on displays in addition to the well-known ones like Burberry, Roksanda, Simone Rocha, and JW Anderson.

We are anticipating Chet Lo’s futuristic spiky knits, Chopova Lowena’s wildly popular tartan skirts, and Ancuta Sarca’s avant-garde reimagined Nike trainer kitten heels.

Also, make sure to attend Fashion East, which every year features a brand-new group of up-and-coming avant-garde designers.

What LFW Events You Can Easily Attend

Fortunately, LFW also hosts a “City Wide Celebration,” where businesses and designers invite the public to free activities and shows.

Q&A sessions with designers, workshops on zero-waste craftsmanship and upcycling, live music performances, and limited edition product drops are among the events. On the LFW website, you may view the complete program.

What Is The LFW Schedule This Year?

The dates of September 15–19, 2023, have been confirmed for London Fashion Week.

Although the whole schedule and the list of participating designers have not yet been released, you can subscribe to the British Fashion Council’s email to be informed of any LFW changes, designer announcements, and schedule releases.

What Should I Wear To London Fashion Week?

Avoid dressing up in inappropriate apparel with the intention of being photographed during London Fashion Week.

You must also make an effort to demonstrate that you are interested in and knowledgeable about the fashion industry and current trends.

Everyone enjoys going all out for Fashion Week, purchasing new outfits, shoes, and bags, since it is the perfect justification for shopping. Spending a lot of money on items you won’t wear again is not advised.

I would advise wearing and bringing the following items:

  • A Watch:

Of course, you have to stick to the schedule, and if your phone dies, which is very possible, you’ll need to keep track of time in another method.

Watches are my preferred adornment. They are quite clever and are capable of giving an outfit just a little bit more glitz or glam.

  • A Nice Pair Of Heels:

Without a nice pair of shoes, one wouldn’t feel the same at the season’s largest fashion event. The new Sophia Webster Watermelon Courts are so much fun, vibrant, and statement-making, and they’re ideal for LFW.

But be careful not to purchase heels that will be unbearably painful all day; you might also want to consider investing in a pair of flat, roll-up shoes.

  • Sunglasses:

If it’s sunny outside and you’re rushing from event to show either on foot or in a taxi, the sunglasses will shield you from the sun while also masking the look of tension on your face.

You’ll also be happy you kept them in your bag when your concealer loses its longevity at the end of the day.

  • A Backpack Or A Large Tote:

I’d advise getting a backpack that can hold all of your necessities, preferably a fashionable, designer backpack.

When you’re carrying your camera, your phone, and your makeup (typically), and your bag is just getting in the way since it’s slung over the crook of your elbow, you’ll be so happy you did.

If a tote is more your style, choose one that has plenty of room for your necessities as well as your camera.

Givenchy Antigona or Victoria Beckham Victoria Tote are two bags I would suggest, partly because I want to purchase them.

  • The Outfit That Suits You Best:

What you wear is entirely up to you; whatever suits you, is comfortable for you, and fits your personality is what matters.

Just avoid donning your exercise clothes or getting prepared for a night out at a club.
